AUGUST 26TH OVERVIEW AND EMMANUEL ZAMBARA

LOOKING BACK ON OUR JOURNEY OF A LIFETIME:

It is imperative that I reiterate again how the Lord protects us when we are on a mission to bring Christ to the lost.  I felt His presence along the way protecting me and helping me to feel healthy and strong and I never had a problem during the entire trip.  I was the first one up and the last to go to sleep at night.  We had early days and long rides on a bus ride that was not airconditioned and bumpy - 11/2 hours each way every day to Chongwe, the village where we held Camp Hope outside in the dust and dirt.  Even though it was winter there, it was still very dusty with little water.  One day we had a very cold day all day and I knew the orphans would be coming underdressed for this weather and I wondered whether they would all come.  They did and it was their choice.  Some came on foot from very long distances and because of the weather, we shortened the lessons where they sit and listen and made sure they were able to play many active games to keep them warmer than if they had been sitting still the entire time.

Emmanuel was awesome for a day like this as he had many games up his sleeve. He was a lifesaver for me and I will forever be indebted to him.  So at this time I would like you to see and meet Emmanuel:  This is Emmanuel Zambara . Emmanuel is a joy and so full of life and quick to learn and so smart. He lives with his parents near by where Camp Hope is held and his father is the director of the school near by.  Therefore he is easy now to connect with as he has email and a phone and he said he could send messages to our sponsored child, James Tai, as well as anything else that comes up that he can do for us he said he would. He is also going to follow up with all the 15 children that  he and I had and fortunately because he lives near by, he knew alot of them already. It was a great privelege to get to know him. He wrote Les and I a letter and gave it to us before we left and it is something we will treasure forever - "Dear Grandma and Grandpa - It is true you are going away - you are going far from us- there is little time and we are almost reaching the end of our camp. We must remember we must create together one union in the Lord.  Grandma and Grandpa I will really miss you when you go because you are such a blessing to me. You have taught me knew things and to cooperate with other people because since you have come you have not isolated any of the children and you have treated us equally. I pray that God will bless you and increase the days of your life and give you the strength to teach the word of God and that He will protect you all of the time. My prayer is to see you again because this is just the beginning of this mission to Zambia.  May the Lord speak to you always. Amen I love you Grandma and Grandpa, Emmanuel Zambara "

  1. It is so awesome how the Lord provided for your good health while you were there and what a wonderful connection you have with all of those children--it must be so hard to be away from them now. I wish you could come to Wayzata Free and do a presentation there. If you would want to I will speak to Pastor Kevin.
