March 13,

Thursday is Baby Haven day where we go to take care of the abandoned babies and the women who live there round the clock are God's heavenly angels. Lizzy is the angel I have gotten to know the best. She is an amazing lady and one I will never forget. She is so sweet and appreciative of anyone who comes to relieve her for a few hours . It is a blessing to do just that and to be around her. We are exchanging emails and will stay in touch. I will pray for her and her ministry every day for the rest of my life. Blessed, a happy little girl who was abandoned,
LOCKED AND GUARDED ENTRANCE TO BABY HAVEN
is about 2-3 months old and is one I would like to take home with me.  She is so adorable and will be a beauty and so petite. I just can't imagine how bad it must be for the woman who abandoned Blessed.  There are so many babies like this and they all have not been as lucky as the children that the haven has been able to rescue.  The women take extra special care of these babies - everything is spotless, and you should see the closet with darling folded clothes for girls and boys.

There are more pictures but the actual babies's faces we are not allowed to post for privacy reasons. However, on the left here is Lizzy - whom I will always cherish and her image will always be what makes the African people so absolutely wonderful.

This morning before helping at Baby Haven, Les and I had breakfast at the clubhouse and then Holly picked us up to go to the Gauteng Botanical Gardens.  We enjoyed walking through the beautiful labeled trees, shrubs, sculptures, and landscapes. Take a look at this waterfall that we approached by going over a bridge.

South Africa is very green and has many hills and mountainous areas with amazing trees and shrubs
which most people would never think that some of these scenes would be in Africa but this is SA which is very different from the rest of the continent. The garden has 220 species of birds including the Verreaux's Eagles  which hover over this haven of biodiversity. We had a snack at the Eagles Nest, a lovely restaurant positioned  right in the middle of the botanical garden. One can see the eagles flying there in front of the restaurant high above cliffs.
